I agree. In fact I work with two young men that work very hard and I'm sure will go far in the world. One is working 40hrs a week while taking on a full college schedule and is one of the best workers we have in our store. the other has worked his way into a position of being on the verge of going into managment with the company

and you have to want to work...even if it is minimum wage.

I worked (seriously not trying to do the bigger fish thing, Indian Dad can tell I am speaking the truth) about 60 hours a week just to get the overtime so I could pay bills, take care of my kid and while I went to school. Had my husband not been around I don't know what I would have done. I did have to see my child minimally sometimes, now because of that I have evenings, weekends, and holidays with her. Kids today don't want to start at the good ol 5.15, and that is taught to them.
I was married by a judge. I should have asked for a jury.

Bingo. They don't want to start at $5.15.
    One of 2 things happen:
    1) They dont want to work at all! They see parents and others doing the same... mooching..barely sliding by...working the system. They learn to stick their hands out too.
    2) They get everything handed to them and want $40K/year jobs right out of high school.

heck, I had a B.S. in Economics, and worked as a cashier at wal-mart. It was a job. I was taught not to sit on my hind end with the "woe is me" pity party and think the world owes me.
Nobody is "too good" for any job.
    You'll shoot your eye out.

Larry King Live on CNN may help show a lot of both views and a few answers. It's on now a view at San Quentin Prison.
